Precise plastic prototypes
Prototypes made of plastic give you an exact idea of your desired product. No matter whether they are to be used to make tools for quality assurance and metrology or for design and toolmaking: At swissplast we manufacture your desired prototypes from plastic.
We manufacture prototypes, small series & pilot series in plastic
swissplast has its own prototyping department where plastic prototypes are developed and manufactured for customers. We support your product development with cost-effective pilot series or small series of up to 50 pieces. Our highly flexible technicians also reliably realise complex specifications so that the plastic prototypes always meet your expectations. In addition, in cooperation with our product designers, we can also make suggestions to our customers for the design of their products and implement them promptly. In doing so, swissplast stands for minimal error rates and the highest quality in plastic production.
Deep drawing & CNC milling technology for precise plastic prototypes
swissplast is one of the largest deep drawing companies in Europe. The constant high quality of our deep drawing parts and plastic prototypes is our top priority. To achieve this, we use the latest plastics technology and rely on technically sophisticated plastics with a moulding area of max. 3000 x 2000 x 1000mm. Our quality assurance ensures the highest level of customer satisfaction, while speed and cost-effectiveness also characterise our prototype production.
In addition to cost-effectiveness, sustainability is also one of our core concepts: At swissplast, we strive to preserve the earth’s resources for future generations through sustainable plastic deep drawing. If you have any questions about the technological possibilities at swissplast or would like an initial consultation, you can of course simply contact us by phone or e-mail.
Prototyping plastics at swissplast
You would like to integrate plastic parts into your project and are not yet sure what the final implementation will look like? Entrust swissplast with the production of plastic prototypes. We have a great deal of know-how in product planning, product design and prototype construction. We can advise you on the nature of the plastic prototype so that you can arrive at the final design of the workpiece with as few correction steps as possible. The next step is the order for a small series, medium series or large series. Here, the product that has emerged from the prototype is manufactured in the desired quantity and delivered to you for further processing.
The advantages of prototyping
The great benefit of building plastic prototypes is the low risk. Instead of having a complete series produced, only a few different plastic prototypes are built, which you can test for individual use and location. In the process, design inaccuracies can be ironed out and final adjustments can be made. In the next step of prototyping, these models are transferred to the product, which is manufactured in the quantity you require. Thus, the use of our plastic prototypes minimises the risk of a large number of parts having errors. Only when the design has been revised and perfected with the help of the prototype, we start the production of the series. Thus, prototyping reduces the error rate enormously.
Our options for plastic prototypes
Our technical options for the creation of initial plastic prototypes are many and varied: central here is also our plastic deep drawing, which is the most common form of processing at swissplast. We have various thermoforming machines that can form prototypes with dimensions of up to 3000 x 2000 x 1000mm. Of course, CNC milling, twin-sheet construction or assembly manufacturing of the prototype can also be used on request and depending on the design of the workpiece. In short, all the techniques used in the production of plastic mouldings can also be used for the production of plastic prototypes. Since our prototypes are manufactured according to the same safety and quality standards, they are environmentally friendly and CO2-neutral due to the use of recycled granulate.
